SINCE 1995, SPOTLIGHT HAS BEEN AN INDUSTRY-LEADING ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROVIDING HIGH-QUALITY PROFESSIONAL DANCE COMPETITIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY. WITH A REPUTATION OF CLIENT-FOCUSED EXCELLENCE, WE ARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING FAMILY-FRIENDLY, ORGANIZED, FAIRLY JUDGED, AND FUN-FILLED EVENTS.

IN 2019, SPOTLIGHT BECAME THE FIRST EMPLOYEE-OWNED ORGANIZATION IN THE DANCE COMPETITION INDUSTRY! THROUGH THE EFFORTS OF A TEAM OF POSITIVE, CREATIVE, INDEPENDENT, MOTIVATED, AND ACCOUNTABLE EMPLOYEES, WE TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE CONTINUED SUCCESS OF SPOTLIGHT AND CARE ABOUT EACH AND EVERY COMPETITOR THAT STEPS ON OUR STAGES.

EACH AND EVERY SPOTLIGHT EVENT IS STAGED AS A PROFESSIONAL THEATRICAL PRODUCTION. OUR EVENTS ARE FAMILY-ORIENTED AND STUDENT FOCUSED. WE STRIVE TO RUN OUR EVENTS ON TIME IN A FRIENDLY, LOW-STRESS, PERSONALIZED, AND CARING ATMOSPHERE. WE RECRUIT TALENTED AND PROFESSIONAL JUDGES WHO OFFER IMPARTIAL, CONSTRUCTIVE ORAL AND VIDEO CRITIQUES OF EACH PERFORMANCE THAT ARE INSPIRING TO DANCERS OF ALL AGES AND ABILITY LEVELS. OUR ONLINE REGISTRATION AND LOYALTY REWARDS PROGRAM MAKE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR SPOTLIGHT EVENTS EASY AND AFFORDABLE.

MEET THE SPOTLIGHT TEAM

 

Michelle Webb, Founder + President of Spotlight Dance Cup, has been in the dance world all her life.  She comes from a family of 7 children, all of whom started their training in their mother’s dance studio. Michelle has directed her own successful dance studio and has served as Dance Program Director of a private performing arts school. 

From a business management perspective, Michelle possesses a vast business background in finance, marketing, organizational and employee management, and is a recognized leader and mentor in the dance industry. She served as Vice President of a $2.5 billion financial institution for over 10 years and has served on the board of directors of a private performing arts organization. 

Michelle held the positions of Vice President and President of the Federation of Dance Competitions and was instrumental in its transition to the Association of Dance Conventions and Competitions (ADCC). She served as Board President for 3 years and continues as an advisor to the organization and many of her peers. Michelle was honored as one of Idaho Business Review’s “2015 Women of the Year”, being recognized for her outstanding business and community service achievements and accomplishments. Michelle is actively involved in Industry Dance Awards and serves on the board of Dancers Against Cancer.  

In addition to her dance background, Michelle is also an accomplished musician, including voice, piano and saxophone, and is active in her church organization.  Michelle is married and the mother of three beautiful and talented children, all of whom have careers in the performing arts. 

Michelle founded Spotlight Dance Cup in 1995 and is thrilled to celebrate 28 years as one of the Nation’s leading dance competitions.  She transitioned Spotlight Events to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company in early 2019 and is proud to be the first in the dance competition industry to share her legacy with her team of exceptional employees.

DeAnna joins our team as the COO of Spotlight Events, Inc and the brand manager of Leap! with a remarkable 18+ years of industry experience, specializing in the growth and management of dance competitions. DeAnna is enthusiastic about embracing the challenge of expanding Leap! National Dance Competition and utilizing her wealth of knowledge to provide oversight and guidance to Spotlight Events Inc.

The Industry Dance Awards & Cancer Benefit Show is an annual event that brings the global dance community together in celebration of creativity, industry innovation, and the fight against cancer. This spectacular event takes place at the historic Avalon Theater in Hollywood, where dancers, educators, pioneers, and icons are recognized for their outstanding achievements and artistic contributions. The “I’m A Dancer Against Cancer” campaign was founded in 2012 to spread awareness and raise donations for cancer fighting charities. DAC quickly became a sign of hope and unity in the dance community. Our Founder and CEO, Michelle Kresge serves on the Board of Directors for the organization. Help to keep the hope alive!
