Hi. I am Molly Edwards. I am so excited to be a Spotlight Dance Cup Shine On Blogger this year. I am a 10-year-old dancer. I’ve been dancing since before I was 2 years old! I was so jealous of my sister’s tap class and would watch from the window, so the teacher finally invited me to come to the class! And basically… the rest is history. I just love dance now. I’m a Rev Company member at Elevated Dance Project in Eagle, Idaho. I travel with my team and on my own to dance conventions all over the country. My favorite out of town convention is DanceMakers and my favorite in town competition is Spotlight Dance Cup, of course! My favorite dance genres are Contemporary and Musical Theater. One of my absolute favorite dance idols is Matt Aylward. He is so fun and chill to dance with. I’m very lucky to have some amazing local teachers and mentors including Kim and Isabel Machado. I also love acting and modeling. I will be attending IMTA, an invitation-only convention for actors and models in LA this year. I was lucky enough to be featured recently as a model in Moonstruck Model Magazine and Kid Model Magazine. I have a tortoise named Max and Pomsky named Jack. We also have 2 family dogs; a Yorkie named Ringo and a Wheaten Terrier named Duffy. I love making slime and playing with squishies. I am kind of obsessed with Musical.ly. Follow me @mollyjeanedwards.

I’m the older sister of your new Spotlight Dance Cup Shine On Blog duo. I just turned 13. I’ve been dancing since I was 2 years old. I also used to be a competitive gymnast. I spent many years dancing at Ballet Idaho and attending summer intensives at the Jillana School and Gelsey Kirkland Academy. I was in the Nutcracker for 6 years at Ballet Idaho! I have also been a company member on a competition team at Elevated Dance Project in Eagle, Idaho for 4 years. I left my ballet studies behind recently to focus more on competition dance and contemporary is my favorite genre. I love to dance, but I also want to be a normal teenager and spend time with my friends. It’s a balancing act to manage dance, school, and time with friends but I’m handling it. I’m also trying out modeling recently. I have been fortunate and my photos have been featured on several Instagram sites including BalletBeautifulGirlsFlawless DancersWorld Princess Face, Adrenaline Dance Convention, and Velocity Dance Convention. I was the Junior Midwest National Spotlight Dance Cup Photogenic Winner in 2016. You can also find some photos of me in the online Spotlight Dance Cup Boutique brochure. We have 3 dogs and I also have a goldfish. My favorite dance idols include Justin Giles and Jillana. I am grateful to have local dance mentors like Kim Machado and Lydia Sakolsky-Basquil. Kim has taught me that dance is about more than just dancing and helped me learn to give back through dance by assisting in Superstars, a dance class for adults with Down’s Syndrome and other Intellectual Disabilities. This is my 3rd year working with the Superstars and I am so grateful for that experience. I hate pizza since my Dad wants to eat it all the time. My favorite treat is definitely Macaroons. I spend a lot of time learning makeup tricks; I learned to do my own stage makeup when I was 9 years old! Some of my favorite skincare and cosmetic products come from Glossier and I also love shopping at MAC and Sephora. One of my very favorite dance memories was performing with Hailee Steinfeld at Velocity Nationals in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood. But, my favorite dance trophies are definitely my diamond trophies from Spotlight when I won overall Junior Solo and overall Junior Duo/Trio at Spotlight Dance Cup in 2016. I’m so excited to write about my dance journey this year and share it with you on this Blog!
