Know before you go.
Before your studio heads to the venue, take one last look at your official event schedule and Teacher Packet in Dance Comp Genie.
Make sure your teachers know:
✓ When your routines perform
✓ Which awards ceremonies apply to your dancers
✓ Where they need to be throughout the weekend
✓ Who on your team is responsible for keeping everyone organized
Then make sure your families have the information they need.

03 - BRING YOUR MUSIC BACKUP
One last music reminder
You've already uploaded your music in DCG.
Now make sure your backup USB actually makes it into the competition bag.
Under the current Spotlight music procedure, studios bring a backup USB to Studio Check-In, with an additional backup device recommended in case of technical issues.
I'd make the visual copy almost playful:
Music uploaded? ✓
USB packed? ✓
Backup backup? ✓
You're ready.
04 - ENTERING PHOTOGENIC?
Don't leave the photo at home!
If you have dancers participating in the Spotlight Photogenic Competition, make sure their photo comes with you to the event.
The current Spotlight rules call for an 8x10 photo submitted at the Spotlight Boutique, with Photogenic offered in Petite, Junior, Teen, and Senior age groups.
PACK THE 8×10
Before your event, also take a look at your schedule so you know when Photogenic winners will be announced.
Spotlight Tip: Put Photogenic photos with your Teacher Packet or competition-weekend materials now so they're not forgotten during packing.
05 -LEAVE A LITTLE ROOM FOR SOMETHING FUN

WHEN YOU ARRIVE - Start with Studio Check-In.
Once you arrive at the venue, your first stop as a Studio Director should be Studio Check-In.
That's where the transition happens from planning your Spotlight event to actually being at Spotlight.
The current Spotlight rules establish Studio Check-In as the place where directors receive their Teacher Check-In Bag and submit the studio's backup USB.

Your teachers have choreographed, cleaned, coached, and encouraged.
Your dancers have trained for this.
Your families have rearranged calendars, packed costumes, and gotten everyone where they need to be.
